We designed a multi-function medical tray used throughout the many steps of the customer's production process, this particular tray design was brought to production and then redesigned two more times due to the changing criteria of the customer. When the customer settled on the final configuration, they put the tray into service but discovered a contamination issue and suspected the silicon treatment of the material was the problem. We worked quickly with our customer and material supplier to change to a certified medical grade material untreated with internal de-nest. As a result of the material change, the contamination the customer experienced was reduced slightly, but they were then able to identify the real problem elsewhere.
